Schilling, Okajima Stifle Rockies

(Newser) – Curt Schilling got his 11th postseason win, and Jonathan Papelbon his first October save, in Boston's 2-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies last night. Hideki Okajima bagged four strikeouts in two scoreless innings of relief, and J.D. Drew continued his redemption arc, going 2-for-2 with a walk and hit-by-pitch, reports the Boston Globe.

Schilling gave up the Rockies' only run in the first, then held the team to four hits in six innings. Three of those hits were singles by Matt Holliday, who later became the victim of another Papelbon first: a pickoff that ended the eighth inning. Rockies' manager Clint Hurdle says his team's comeback plan is to "go home now and play some baseball.'
