High-speed chase not an option

(User Submitted) – Edwin Fry loves his prized pooch. When his dog, Buddy Tough, found himself locked up in the town kennel, Fry decided to bust him out of jail. Fry could have paid the $100 fine to have his dog released, but instead, he decided to visit the pound with a pair of bolt cutters. It would have been the perfect crime, but Fry forgot to use a getaway vehicle capable of hitting 10mph.

Fry freed his pup from the town kennel, then the two fled on his riding lawnmower. Unfortunately, the police didn't have too much trouble apprehending the 73-year-old man and his dog. Fry spent several days in jail, the AP notes, during which Buddy Tough was euthanized. Read the full article.

ok, read more of the whole story. it's more pathetic that you'd imagine. this journalistic gem of a paper lists these two things as the dog's offenses: 1."One woman complained Buddy Tough was coming to her house and causing a ruckus with her dogs." 2. "... a senior fell and injured herself trying to get Buddy Tough off her porch one night" finally, it is important to note that buddy tough was a poodle. that's right - a big, snarling, nasty, vicious, ruckus-causing poodle. Quit your crying for the old man. Go read the full article and find out that the old man was charged with letting a dog run unrestrained around his neighborhood. When confronted by the police, the old man told them to leave his dog alone or they would have to face his shotgun. Old men who threaten the police with guns do not get my sympathy. The dog having the sad luck of having an asshat owner... that's sad.

This is yet another example of the pu$$ification of America. Someone in the shelter should have grown a pair and said hey this is wrong, we cant do this to an old man. Stupid pukes
