(Newser) – An enormous sinkhole appeared overnight in a small town in central Germany, gobbling up a road, a garage, and a car. Dozens of people in the neighborhood were evacuated, and officials warn that the expanding hole, already nearly 100 feet wide, could swallow more buildings, the Christian Science Monitor reports. Experts have yet to pinpoint the cause. (Click here for the tale of another massive sinkhole and other strange natural catastrophes.)
