Most couldn't defeat more traditional rivals

(Newser) – One in three Tea Party candidates who ran for Congress emerged a winner, reports NBC's First Read blog. It came up with 10 hopefuls for the Senate and 130 for the House who either described themselves as Tea Party candidates or got the backing of Tea Party groups. Of those, 32.1% won and 61.4% lost, with some races still up in the air.

The Senate's easy to break down: The five winners were Pat Toomey, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Ron Johnson, and Mike Lee; losers were Christine O'Donnell, Sharron Angle, John Raese, and Ken Buck. The race with Joe Miller in Alaska remains undecided. To see the full list of Tea Party results in the House—so far, 40 winners and 82 losers—click here.

Way to go Newser. After running negative Tea Party/Republican stories for the past few months they only managed to win 32% of the time. I'm so glad you can find something positive to say about the democrats whipping in the House and gains in the senate. This is one of the most left leaning news aggregate sites who must be steaming made because the voters did not pay attention to your slanted stories. Why don't you run stories on Obama's low approval rating and how during his two years of leadership the voters sent a message to him. When Bush was president this site featured negative Bush stories at least twice a day but since Obama is the chosen one by the liberal press you see nothing negative concerning him.

32% is pretty good when you consider that only 13% of House candidates who challenged incumbents won.
