(Newser) – Was always-crazed heavy metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne biologically destined to party really, really hard? Scientists think it's a possibility after finding several intriguing mutations when mapping the Oz's genes. Several of the variations "we've never seen before," said geneticist Nathaniel Pearson, and they include some that may have made it easier for the rocker's bod to absorb astounding amounts of booze and drugs over the years without more serious damage, reports ABC News.

Researchers were interested in mapping the genes of the one-time Black Sabbath frontman because of his musical talent as well as his ability to handle an "aggressive" lifestyle, said a spokesman for the Knome gene-mapping company that did the testing. None of it's a surprise to wife Sharon, who has always been fascinated with her hubby's ability to absorb "so much" abuse. "I've always said that at the end of the world there will be roaches, Ozzy—and Keith Richards," she quipped. Click here for more.
