Coming Soon: Bacon-Flavored Soda

Bacon makes everything better—so it goes without saying that bacon-flavored soda will be a hit, right? Two companies with a penchant for weird stuff are coming together to create the savory beverage: J&D Foods, a company that also makes bacon-flavored envelopes and bacon beauty products, and Jones Soda, which has in the past marketed a Turkey & Gravy soda, AOL News reports.

“They know soda. We know bacon,” says the J&D Foods owner. “We were destined to merge our technologies for something big.” It took months to get the flavor just right: “The drink started out tasting more like ham than pork,” he says. What meal should you combine it with? “If you drink it at lunch with a turkey sandwich, then your sandwich instantly becomes a turkey club,” he suggests.
