Yemen has ordered the arrest of Awlaki. ((AP Photo/Muhammad ud-Deen, File)) (Newser) – Add Yemen to the list of those hunting US-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki: A judge today ordered cops to find him "dead or alive" after he skipped his own trial for charges of killing foreigners. Awlaki has long been thought to be hiding in southern Yemen, but authorities' efforts to find him have seemed less than earnest, reports the AP, until newfound pressure came to bear in wake of the failed mail-bombs attempts. The CIA already has controversial authorization to assassinate Awlaki, an American citizen who's been linked to the Christmas bomber and possibly the Times Square bomber.
