(NEWSER) - Hollywood's million-dollar question: Who will play the "tattoo artist in Thailand" in the Hangover 2 now that Mel Gibson got booted from role? Liam Neeson, reports Variety . A-Team co-star/Hangover hunk Bradley Cooper invited him to take the role, says Neeson. "I just got a call to do a one day shoot on Hangover 2 as a tattooist in Thailand, and that's all I know about it. I just laughed my leg off when I saw The Hangover, I was shooting in Berlin earlier this year and rented it on the hotel TV." More»

(NEWSER) - If the first Hangover was a wild party, the second is, well, the hangover. Critics are savaging the latest effort from Todd Phillips:

• Writing in Salon , Andrew O’Hehir smacks the film’s “mind-boggling awfulness.” It’s a “clumsy, homophobic, cliché-ridden, and terminally unfunny sequel” that “takes dude comedy to its Sex and the City 2 nadir.” The guy who tried ( and failed ) to stop the film with a lawsuit was “accidentally trying to perform a public service.” (Read more of O'Hehir's fuming and funny review .)

Former drug user Mike Tyson got a chance, after all

(NEWSER) - Mel Gibson isn't too happy he got axed from the Hangover 2. In fact, sources say he's "furious" at producers. "He doesn't understand why Mike Tyson, a drug user who turned his life around, was given a chance while Mel was kicked to the curb. Everybody deserves a second chance," said one. We're guessing Liam Neeson-as-replacement isn't doing much to smooth the situation. Neeson's agent issued a statement poking at the debacle, saying the actor would replace Gibson "pending clearance of cast and crew background check," reports the New York Post . Click here for more. Cast, crew can't stand actor

(NEWSER) - Mel Gibson's cameo in The Hangover 2, touted as his first step of a comeback, has been cut because the cast and crew couldn't stand working with him, TMZ reports. Gibson had been lined up to play a Bangkok tattoo artist in what one source described as a "pivotal" role in the sequel. "I thought Mel would have been great in the movie," said director Todd Phillips. "But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew." More»
