Barbara Bush: I Hope Palin Stays in Alaska

Weekly Standard zings her, too

(Newser) – Not much love for Sarah Palin from the Bush matriarch: Asked by Larry King her opinion, Bush responded, "I sat next to her once. Thought she was beautiful. And she's very happy in Alaska, and I hope she'll stay there." At least she was smiling when she said it. CNN provides a video teaser (in the gallery), and the full interview airs Monday night.

Another Palin item raising eyebrows is a negative, at-times-mocking review of her reality show in the magazine edited by her longtime champion, William Kristol. Written by Matt Labash, the Weekly Standard review includes lines like this: "But that's what going rogue is all about. Letting it fly. Following your gut. Which has made Sarah Palin wealthy, and intensely discussed, and now has secured her a spot in the Reality TV Star pantheon. And good for Palin if she's happy following her gut. Though there's no compelling reason to suggest the rest of us should tag along behind."

Old Barbara is right that Sarah is beautiful. Old Barbara is wrong if she thinks Jeb will be our next President. Sarah Palin/2012.

Perhaps "Refudiater" Palin is the universes way of payback for doofus "decider" Bush's eight , deadly disasterous years of knuckle dragging Republican ineptness? Today's rational, intelligent Repuplicans - the few that exist - are faced with exposing and condeming Sarah for her money hungry, self centered, ignorant cultivation of wacko, tunnel vision tea bagging Republicans that will only increase America's problems. Or they can support her in order to gain an electoral advantage over the Democrats, knowing full well she's only fit to run for dog catcher on the moon.

First, who the hell cares what Barbara Bush thinks or says?.... Second, it's not like she expressed some wild fringe opinion... Many, if not most, Americans share her view...
