No one can stay mad at Bill Clinton—not even the guy he kicked out of the White House. Poppy and Barbara Bush sang his praises on Larry King last night, Mediaite observes, with George touting their “really good personal relationship.” Barbara Bush admitted that it took her a while to warm to him. “But you can’t dislike Bill Clinton. He’s very likable. And he’s so good to George. He would let George have the bed. … I have a feeling Bill wishes he had a father like George.”

The pair also said they had a good relationship with Obama. “He’s been very pleasant to me. Very,” said George. “On a personal basis, I’m very strongly impressed.” What about that president in between Clinton and Obama? “There’s no rivalry,” George says, and stories to the contrary “burn me up.” Bush also confirmed that there wouldn’t be another President Bush anytime soon, saying he knew Jeb was not considering a 2012 run. And of course, there was the headline-grabbing highlight of the night: Barbara’s epic Palin takedown. (More George HW Bush stories.)
