(Newser) – Who's really the turkey on Thanksgiving? It may be the 59% of us who will interrupt our holiday to check our email. And of those inbox slaves, 55% will check their work email at least once. The stats come courtesy of a Xobni/Harris Interactive survey of 2,179 adults, which also found that we're not just staying in touch with the office because we have to. Mashable reports that some 19% who check work email say it's a welcome distraction.

And 99% of kids with a mobile phone will send at least 10 texts about how lame their Thanksgiving is. How is this news? Are we supposed to abandon our responsibilities and ignore friends on Thanksgiving?
