Google Founder's Wedding Date Suppressed

Posted Nov 1, 07 12:23 AM CDT in Technology Arts & Living Business

(Newser) – Valleywag reports that somebody leaked Google founder Larry Page's wedding date to a Fortune editor, but the info was later scrubbed from the story in which it had appeared. And the old version of the article doesn't show up in the Google cache of the page. Yahoo cached the original version, however, revealing that the wedding is scheduled for December 7.

The story, which appeared on the CNN Money site, said a friend of the writer had forwarded him some details about plans for the event, including that guests needed a passport that would be valid for six months after they left the wedding's locale, which a separate rumor identifies as Virgin mogul Richard Branson's island. Valleywag hasn't gotten an explanation for the edit from Fortune writer Andy Serwer.
