Jaguar Looking at Suspension

Posted Oct 31, 07 10:50 PM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – One of the aging bulwarks of Jacksonville's stout defense, tackle Marcus Stroud has tested positive for an undisclosed banned substance, reports the Florida Times-Union. Stroud may appeal, but the team may have already decided he is better off serving his four-game suspension sooner rather than later in the season.

Earlier this week, the Jaguars signed Atlanta castoff defensive tackle Grady Jackson, possibly in anticipation of the suspension. Stroud, a three-time Pro Bowler, missed five games due to injury last year; it is unknown whether the illegal supplement was prescribed to him to rehab  his right ankle, which he underwent surgery to repair in the offseason.
