Swimwear designer Sylvie Cachay has been found dead in the bathtub of a luxury Manhattan hotel and police are questioning boyfriend Nicholas Brooks, son of You Light Up My Life songwriter Joseph Brooks. Police initially believed Cachay died from a drug overdose, but then discovered bruise marks on her neck and a bite mark on her hand, sources tell the New York Daily News.

Her body was found before dawn after a hotel guest told staff water was leaking from the ceiling. Workers found her semi-clothed body in the tub, with water running full force. Her 24-year-old beau, who had checked in with Cachay, was out of the hotel at the time. After returning at 5:30am, Brooks told detectives he had been out drinking. Brooks' father, who won an Oscar for his hit 1977 ballad, is awaiting trial on charges of raping 11 would-be actresses he allegedly lured to his Manhattan home.
