(Newser) – The support for marijuana legalization is picking up supporters in some surprising sectors. Uber-conservative evangelist Pat Robertson is now calling for legalization of the drug because treating users like criminals is "ruining lives." We've "got to take a look at what we're considering crimes," he said on the 700 Club. "I'm not exactly for the use of drugs, but I believe that criminalizing the possession of a few ounces of pot is costing us a fortune and it's ruining young people. Young people go into prisons as youths and come out as hardened criminals. That's not a good thing." Amen.

Rev. Pat Robertson believes busting young people for a few ounces of pot is ruining people's lives.

Well; after what he said about Haitians he had to go out on a limb to redeem himself. And what better way to do it than taking that kind of stance on a subject that he knows disproportionately affects black folks. No one, especially Religious people want to distance themselves from Black spending power; and I am sure that Pat Robertson's Ministry is no exception.

Dear Pat, Until we change the law it's the LAW.. Why would not take a stand to get these people to change their lives or pay for their crimes? If we go down this path what will me "over look" next? This is one of the problems I see in the Church, we just over look and minimize sin (10 commandnents) as if there is not consequence. This is not what GOD's word says will happen to those who commit sin. "your sins will find you out. We need to show the world, by our actions, that living a sober and quite life that one can life a happy and fulfilled life in JESUS...
