Bonds: It's Ball* or Me* in HOF

(Newser) – Barry Bonds won't show up for his own induction if the Baseball Hall of Fame exhibits his record-breaking No. 756 ball with an asterisk, he said in a TV interview last night. "There's no such thing as an asterisk in baseball," the slugger complained, arguing that people shouldn't be allowed to "alter history."

Designer Marc Ecko bought the ball and the public voted online to send it to Cooperstown with an asterisk acknowledging the belief that steroids helped Bonds to his record. If the ball does end up in Cooperstown, the San Francisco Chronicle reports, Bonds said he "will never be in the Hall of Fame. Never." Ahem. Well, he added, "That's my emotions now, that's how I feel now."
