As Quest for Palin's Emails Hits Day 834, More Delays

15th delay request could push waiting time to 986 days; she was in office 966

(Newser) – MSNBC.com and a handful of other news organizations have been waiting patiently—very, very, very patiently—for the 25,000 emails Sarah and Todd Palin sent to each other and to 51 key state employees while she was governor of Alaska. And her former staff wants them to wait a little longer. Though state regulations generally require such records be made publicly available within 10 days, the governor's office is requesting its 15th delay, of five months, til May 30. If it's approved, MSNBC notes that its request will have been pending for 986 days. Sarah Palin's time in office? 966.

MSNBC.com, AP, et al requested the emails in 2008, after John McCain announced the mostly unknown Palin as his running mate. Alaska regulations permit the attorney general to approve the delay if going ahead with the request would hamper the functioning of the office. On Monday, Day 832, Palin's administrative director and the sender of the new delay request, said the office was having two assistant attorneys general work full-time to review the records, at a total cost of $570,000. She says that to date, only 30% of the emails have been reviewed.

Throw Todd and Sarah in jail until they comply. That's where you or I would be if we pulled this delay routine.

Now now. People say positive things about Palin when they can. Like she has nice hair. And she's always available if the moneys right. And she never met a camera opportunity she didn't like except the ones with pesky journalists that ask pertinant questions about stuff she never bothered to learn. And she really knows how to deliver those zingers that her speech writers come up with. See I said a whole bunch of positive things about Palin. Which is way more than Palin does about anything that really matters. Between Palin and Odonnell whining about their negative press; they're about even-steven. You would think they would make themselves less of a spectacle but then they wouldn't be on TV anymore and they really like being on TV. But then I remember when Republicans thought Jim and Tammy Faye Baker were "for real". The Reagans invited them to the White House even. So being good judges of character has never been their strong suit. So this is another instance where these two wannabefamousfornothin's will have loyal fans until an indictment is unsealed or till one of them out-whacko's the other. But I wonder if these same fans would follow an ugly woman candidate that made the same type of blunders and lacked the same knowledge. Probably wouldn't be considered "everywoman" then, just ignorant that it is.

I really hope she runs for the presidency. If enough Democrats purposely vote for her in the primaries, it will give Obama the easiest path to reelection (he routinely beats her in polls by 10-20 points, but he is tied with Romney and barely beats Huckabee). A website was recently launched, http://www.primariesforpalin.com, that is organizing this movement. They have a state-by-state primary voting guide so you can figure out if your state is open or closed. If it's closed, they link to forms you can fill out to affiliate with the Republican party so you can vote for her in the primaries. It is pointless to vote for Obama in the Democrat primaries because he will face no serious opposition. It makes sense to vote for the weakest opponent, which is Palin.
