US Secretly Sends Ukraine's Uranium to Russia

...in an effort to destroy it

(Newser) – The US carried out a secret operation this week in which 110 pounds of highly enriched uranium—enough to make two atomic bombs—were sent from Ukraine to Russia, as part of the Obama administration’s not-at-all secret push to secure the world’s nuclear material. Russia intends to blend down the uranium and make it useless for bomb making, the AP reports.

The US, meanwhile, will give Ukraine some replacement low-enriched uranium for use in its research reactors, along with a new $25 million “neutron source facility,” which will produce 50 types of medical isotopes using that non-weapon-grade fuel. The US nuclear administration’s chief praised Ukraine for ensuring its bomb-making material didn’t fall “into the wrong hands.”

How did this come to be a story? Who dropped a word into someone's ear? If it were a secret, why does it become a story on the internet? As some of the other commenters prove, the only thing a story like this is good for, is to bring out xenophobia. Fear and loathing are tools of the ruling class - if they can keep us distracted they can go ahead and do whatever the hell they want.

I am so elated and can sleep much better over the transfer of nuclear material from the Ukraine to Russia. Enemies one day, best pals the next. Gone are the days of having to dig bomb shelters in our back yards and practice diving under our desks at school. No more of those filthy Commies being shouted in our ears. Why, moving nuke ingredients is like trading baseball cards. How glorious these times are. Any more card tricks under the sleeve?

And Russia is going to make it into birthday cakes? Yeah. So pathetic it's funny. Our jugeared buffoon of a communist president scores another great diplomatic victory. Pisses off our friend (Ukraine) and strengthens Godless, heathen soviet Russia. You can't make this s h i t up!!!
