Reid, McConnell May Weaken Filibuster Reform

Senior senators hold private talks ahead of new Congress

(Newser) – Looks like filibuster reform won't be all that sweeping, after all. Junior Democratic senators—including Tom Udall of New Mexico—are pushing to revamp the rules to prevent what they say is Republican obstruction, but the Senate leadership of both parties looks ready to water down any changes, reports Talking Points Memo. Harry Reid has been talking with Mitch McConnell on a “separate track” to reform, Udall tells TPM.

"This is being sorted out so privately that, as the days tick down until January 5, even reform advocates don't know where things stand," writes Brian Beutler. "Which means they might end up being very disappointed come January 6."

Of course their going to weaken it. The only reason they were doing it was because they had complete control. With Filibuster reform, Democrats would have had complete one party rule. But after they got their tails kicked the last election, they don't want to paint themselves in corner. Liberals are hilarious.

Don't wait til Jan 6 to be disappointed. With weak Dems like Harry, it's always safe to be disappointed now.
