Boston's New 1-2-3 Punch Knocks Out Wizards

Posted Nov 3, 07 6:31 AM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – Add the Celtics to the list of this season's Boston sports juggernauts. The much-anticipated combo of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett exploded onto the court last night, flattening the Wizards, 103-83. Gilbert Arenas' guarantee of a Washington victory crumbled under Pierce and Garnett's combined 50 points and 25 rebounds, reports the Boston Herald.

Garnett was shaking with excitement when he pronounced that "tonight was rockin’, man." His 31st career 20-20 game was the first for any Celtic since 2003. The Wizards set their own record by missing every one of their 16 three-point attempts, and capped that with 35% shooting, to the delight of the loudest Garden crowd in years.
