The video is everywhere and a second and third are out, and now Owen Honors is out, too. The captain of the USS Enterprise has been permanently relieved of his command over the raunchy, gay-bashing videos that he produced and aired for his crew while on missions supporting the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, reports ABC News. Honors hasn't been kicked out of the Navy, just reassigned to an administrative role.

We're guessing the decision won't sit too well with his more than 10,000 Facebook supporters, who hustled to his defense. Some highlights:

  • "I see nothing wrong with trying to build morale on the ship," wrote one. "As a military wife, I feel anything to make people laugh and build morale is a good thing."
  • "We all looked forward to those videos from Honors while underway. We can not ruin a good mans career for the sake of petty political correctness," wrote one sailor.
  • I would love to go to sea with a man like this that can lighten up a extremely stressful job," wrote another.
