Onetime CNN anchor Rick Sanchez is heading back to the air after getting axed for controversial remarks about Jews, and he's pleading with the media to give him a break. "I tried to be real, to be honest, to be passionate, so wish I still could. Wish media would look beyond 5 seconds of my life," tweeted Sanchez. He was canned from his CNN job after claiming in a radio interview that comedian Jon Stewart is a bigot and implying that the media outlets are run by Jews, notes the Huffington Post.

"I'm telling you that everybody who runs CNN is a lot like Stewart, and a lot of people who run all the other networks are a lot like Stewart, and to imply that somehow they—the people in this country who are Jewish—are an oppressed minority? Yeah," he said sarcastically in the interview late last year. Sanchez is scheduled to appear in a "public dialogue" at a synagogue next week in New York, where he says he "looks forward to addressing any and all questions and concerns of the Jewish community."
