(Newser) – Three police officers and an assistant were killed in a rare incident of gun violence in China. They were cut down by a pair of gunmen at a home in Shandong province in northeastern China. The men then hijacked 4 vehicles before being cornered by police. One was captured and the other shot himself. Gun crime is almost unheard of in China, where the only firearms not in state hands belong to hunters who go through a lengthy application process, the New York Times notes.
