(Newser) – Glenn Beck was not satisfied with Congress' constitutional read-along yesterday, because House leaders left out a couple of parts: namely, the three-fifths compromise, and the 18th Amendment, which declared prohibition. “They didn’t want to offend anybody ... which shows their cowardice for not reading it,” Beck fumed of their decision to read the Constitution-as-amended, adding that if the three-fifths clause, which declared that slaves would be counted as fractions of people, offends you, “you’re ignorant. Do your homework. They did it as a ticking timebomb to slavery.”

“This document is great for one reason,” an animated Beck cried, “They left in the scars.” Glynnis MacNicol of Business Insider thinks Beck actually nailed this one, and says that the House GOP’s decision to “white-wash” the constitution is a prime example of what drives people to Beck’s show.
