Rosie in Talks to Host MSNBC Show

Posted Nov 6, 07 3:31 AM CST in Arts & Living

(Newser) – Rosie O'Donnell and MSNBC are close to inking a deal to give the outspoken comedian her own prime-time talk show, reports the New York Times. Just six months after she left "The View" in a cloud of controversy, the loquacious lefty could be battling CNN's "Larry King Live" and "Hannity and Colmes" on Fox to dominate the 9 p.m. slot.

Signing the high-profile controversy machine would be a coup for MSNBC. There are still important details to be worked out, like O'Donnell's pay, and whether she would also be seen on NBC broadcast channels. If O'Donnell does go on at 9, she would bump former network general manager Dan Abrams' show to follow "Countdown with Keith Olbermann."
