President Obama has been talking a lot about the need to “win the future” lately. In fact, it sounds like a pretty good re-election campaign slogan, notes Roll Call. There's just one teensy-tiny issue: A conservative activist already owns WinTheFuture.com—and .org, .net, and every other WinTheFuture website. Glenn Pelikan of Portland, Ore., registered the domain names in 2007 after Newt Gingrich released a book called Winning the Future—and Pelikan had actually forgotten he owned them until Roll Call contacted him, the site reports.

"I probably would have dropped it a year ago," Pelikan said, “but now, under the circumstances" he may offer to sell WinTheFuture.com to the Republican National Committee. Obama—“constitutional conservative” Pelikan is no fan of his policies—has used the phrase at last twice recently, in his weekly address and in a video previewing his State of the Union address, which ended with a “Win the Future” graphic.
