New details from the chilling case of the Tampa mom accused of killing her two “mouthy” kids: After allegedly shooting son Beau and daughter Calyx, Julie Schenecker put blankets over them, the AP reports. Beau, 13, was found in the van where he was shot, covered with a blanket, according to court documents released today. Calyx, 16, had apparently been moved from the computer, where Schenecker admitted to shooting her, to a bed where she was also covered.

The .38-caliber pistol that killed the teens had been purchased by Schenecker five days before, say authorities, who found bullets, medication, and a Smith & Wesson instruction manual in the master bedroom and bathroom. The morning after the murders, after receiving a call from Schenecker’s concerned mother, police found the woman unconscious on the back porch, wearing a bloody robe, and had to wake her up.
