Redskins Owner Sues Paper Over 'Anti-Semitic' Pic Dan Snyder sues 'Washington City Paper' over devil horns, goatee By Rob Quinn, Newser Staff Posted Feb 4, 2011 8:33 AM CST 13 comments Comments Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder watches his team during football training camp at Redskins Park in Ashburn, Va., (AP Photo/Susan Walsh) (Newser) – Dan Snyder—having possibly forgotten that his team is called the "Washington Redskins"—is feeling offended. Snyder is suing the Washington City Paper for $2 million for an unflattering story, which was accompanied by a picture of Snyder with added goatee, mustache, and devil horns, Gawker reports. The paper depicted Snyder "in a blatantly anti-Semitic way," his lawyers write in a letter to the City Paper, warning that "litigation would presumably quickly outstrip the asset value" of the paper. "We at City Paper take accusations of anti-Semitism seriously," the paper responded, "in part because many of us are Jewish, including staffers who edited the story and designed the cover."
