Third-ranked Memphis took on the University of Richmond in the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic last night in a game one UR player compared to David vs. Goliath.  David lost 80-63.  Memphis will now play a yet-to-be-determined team next Monday night at MSG in the tournament semifinals.

Richmond guard David Gonzalvez, who scored 25 overall, was able to keep the game interesting, cutting Memphis' lead to 3 with 6:25 to go. But Memphis battled back, going to the free-throw line eight times during a two-minute stretch. Memphis returns all five starters from last year's team that made it to the elite eight.
