'Mouthy' Mom: Gun Waiting Period Will 'Delay Massacre'

(Newser) – Before she allegedly shot her teenage son and daughter in the head for being "mouthy," Julie Schenecker detailed her plans with pen and paper. Referencing Florida's three-day waiting period to take home a firearm, Schenecker chillingly wrote in a note that it would "delay the massacre," reports the St. Petersburg Times. Schenecker has admitted shooting Beau, 13, and Calyx, 16, five days after she bought a .38-caliber handgun. Authorities have yet to identify the gun shop where she made the purchase. I wonder how many times a gun shop owner has heard: "I want to commit mass murder, which gun would you recommend"?

If she used a knife, would we be talking about a waiting period for cutlery?

Yeah - and if she couldn't legally obtain the weapon, she would have done it illegally. She was planning to commit murder - I don't think laws matter to her.
