LA Investigates Mysterious Playboy Mansion Illness

It's not what you're thinking

(Newser) – Must've been something in the air, but dozens of people at a Playboy Mansion fundraiser earlier this month contracted a really ... nasty ... respiratory infection, and LA County public health officials are now investigating, reports the LA Times. Officials are surveying all 700 attendees of a conference called Domainfest global after reports of a rash of problems including pneumonia.

"It is scary everyone came down with the same thing at the same time," says one participant. "It knocked me off my feet for five days," says another, whose brother also attended and was unaffected. "I'm over it now, but I'm still feeling fatigue, which is not a good thing."

I'm disappointed that NEWSER couldn't find more "interesting" photos for a story involving the Playboy party...

The only thing that saved Hef was that he was in his wheelchair breathing pure oxygen off that respirator that his health care provider carries around for him.

Three things to remember if you want to survive a trip to the Playboy Mansion. 1. Don't breathe the stanky air 2. Don't eat any food prepared in the often abused kitchen. 3. Don't ever feed your carrot to any of the bunnies that may be hopping around.
