Bachmann: First Lady Wants a 'Nanny State'

Minnesota rep slams breastfeeding campaign

(Newser) – Just a few days after Andrew Breitbart ran a cartoon basically calling her fat, Michelle Obama and her anti-obesity campaign came under attack again, this time from Michele Bachmann. The Minnesota congresswoman and Tea Party favorite ripped Obama's push to advocate breastfeeding as part of the fight against childhood obesity, Politico reports. "To think that government has to go out and buy my breast pump for my babies? You wanna talk about the nanny state, I think you just got a new definition,” Bachmann said yesterday on Laura Ingraham's radio show.

Bachmann, Ingraham, and some of her callers also speculated that Obama's attempts at passing legislation hint that she may run for office someday. Bachmann called the first lady's agenda “very consistent with where the hard left is coming from. For them, government is the answer to every problem,” she said. “And so government got us in this problem, and so they think government is going to get us out of the problem. Clearly they’re wrong.” Click for more of Bachmann's comments.

I bet you Bachmann would not have been this ignorant had she been suckled, at least twice per day.
