Spurs Overcome Heat 88-78

(Newser) – Despite the lack of impact the struggling Tim Duncan had on the proceedings, the Spurs nonetheless handed Miami their 20th loss in 21 trips to San Antonio last night, the Express-News reports. The defeat perpetuates the Heat's winless season, as Dwyane Wade continues his recovery from off-season surgery on knee and shoulder. Miami has not won since last April.

"Hopefully, things get better when Wade comes back," said Shaquille O'Neal, who had 17 points on the night. "We need everyone else to step up their game and play harder." While Spurs' role players Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker combined for 48 points, Miami could muster only 14 points from Ricky Davis and 10 from Udonis Haslem.
