On-Fire LeBron Can't Overcome Boozer, Jazz

Posted Nov 8, 07 4:55 AM CST in Sports

(Newser) – LeBron James's triple-double (32 points, 15 boards, 13 assists) wasn't enough to boost his team past the Utah Jazz. Despite Utah's 17% three-point shooting, the teams stayed neck-and-neck for four quarters, leaving Deron Williams to break the tie by hitting a lay-up with 1.3 seconds remaining, reports AP. In other Western Conference home games:

  • Seattle dropped to 0-5 with a 105-98 loss to Memphis, as Kevin Durant's perfect free-throw shooting couldn't make up for his 3-for-17 field goal performance.
  • New Orleans finally fell to Portland, 93-90, as Peja Stojakovic posted just five points and Tyson Chandler fouled out with his second technical in the third quarter.
