Malikah Shabazz accused of stealing from widow

(Newser) – Malikah Shabazz, Malcolm X’s youngest daughter, has been arrested on outstanding warrants that include charges of grand larceny, forgery, and identity theft. The New York Times reports that Shabazz was accused of stealing from the widow of one of Malcolm’s bodyguards. She was arrested in North Carolina on Friday, and faces a hearing for extradition to New York today.

Police originally took notice of Shabazz after receiving a call saying that her daughter wasn’t attending school. It was a misunderstanding, according to her lawyer—the daughter was being home-schooled—but when police investigated, they discovered the warrants, issued in 2009.

Never really liked Malcolm X he was understandably filled with a lot of hate. I dont blame the guy i just dont agree with his message. Now Martin Luther King is the guy who everyone should look up to. I really wonder what he'd say about the Al Sharptons of the world today.

Where do some people come from? This is the story of a girl with a famous (infamous) father, who went wrong. Other than that, nothing to do with the father. Malikah is a criminal and deserves to be treated as one. Case closed. Now, forget the heritage lessons and get some news. We need news. People get silly with crap like this.

A crowd outside her parents' Florida home cheered and jeered, calling her a murderer and baby killer, as officers led her away, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
