World's Most Liveable City Is...

Vancouver, for the fifth straight year

(Newser) – Looking for a new place to hang your hat? Consider Vancouver, which tops the list of the world’s most liveable cities for the fifth year running, Reuters reports. The annual survey from the Economist Intelligence Unit ranks cities on stability, health care, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure, and Vancouver scored 98%. Other leaders:

  1. Melbourne, Australia
  2. Vienna, Austria
  3. Toronto, Canada
  4. Calgary, Canada

I doubt this story has any validity to it. I don't hear of any immirgrants clamoring to get into Canada, why is it that the USA is the only one with an illegal immigration problem? I also do not see anyone waiting in line to see the latest Canadian blockbuster movie!

I'm in number 2; Melbourne, Australia right now. If this is number 2 in the world, the rest of the world seriously sucks. Traffic has gotten steadIy worse over the last 12 years due to no spending on roads, the public transport system is circa WW2. There has not been any major upgrade on the system since the early 40's. Though we did get a new ticket system for about $1.5 billion that no one uses. Though it looks like that is going the way of the dodo by the new Liberal State Gov. Hospital waiting lines get longer due to the rationing of health care through the gov system. Thankfully private health cover is pretty darn affordable. Melbourne would be the greatest city in the world if the last 12 years hadn't been wasted on nothing.
