New Loughner Mugshots Out

Lawyers had sought to block them

(Newser) – Jared Lee Loughner's second set of mugshot photos—shot by US marshals when he was taken into federal custody—have been released, despite his lawyers' best efforts. He's still smirking, though not as broadly as in the widely distributed mugshot taken by the Pima County Sheriff's Office, and sports an abrasion on his head and a bruised left eye. The photos had been sought by various media outlets under the Freedom of Information Act, reports Politico.

This is a combo of photos of Jared Loughner released Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, by the US Marshal's Service. The photo was taken in Phoenix while Loughner was in the agency's custody.

I expect that unless he's kept in secure confinement (read solitary) someone will break his nose from right to left the opposite of where it sits now. They really should give him a baseball and glove so he can properly play with himself in his cell. Just servin' . . .

This guy is great material for high school debate teams everywhere. Capital punishment never seemed so appealing.
