Emma Howard married Chris Greenslade today. What's so special about this wedding? Three days ago, the bride didn't know whether she would live to see it. Howard was at work when her building collapsed after the earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand. Buried under the rubble, she sent a text message to Greenslade, who rushed over only to find a mess of debris, reports the AP.

He began to dig down to try and reach her, freeing others along the way and sending her reassuring texts all the while. He finally got to her and helped other rescuers pull her out. The two assured each other that the wedding was still going to happen. Minor adjustments had to be made, though. Their wedding cake had been destroyed, along with the groomsmen's suits.
