Jamie Oliver: Sarah Palin Is a 'Froot Loop'

(Newser) – Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has entered the Sarah Palin-Michelle Obama food fight, lobbing a sugary-but-not-so-sweet statement in Palin's direction: He called her a "Froot Loop" for criticizing the Obama administration's healthy eating initiatives. The US is in a "really dark moment" when it comes to children's health and needs to make it a priority, said Oliver—who thinks his TV show can help. The chef tried to make over the diets of a West Virginia town in Jamie's Food Revolution, and is filming a new version in LA, reports the AP. "I think America's going to react very strongly to what I've filmed in the last two months."

As a Sarah Palin activist, I find Jamie Oliver's words and actions downright contradictory. He criticizes Sarah Palin for opposing an attempted mandate by the Federal Government to take authority on deciding how to feed children away from parents and give it to the Federal Government. Yet he is doing the very thing Sarah Palin is advocating as an alternative to the Federal Government horning in on this issue: letting the private sector handle the matter, in this case, in his TV show. This is more of the same where liberal "logic" fighting Sarah Palin falls apart when cross-examined - again.
