FBI: In '61, Ted Kennedy Rented Out 'Entire Brothel'

Classified memo describes decadent partying in Chile

(Newser) – While John F Kennedy sat in the most powerful office on Earth, little brother Ted was off renting out an entire Chilean brothel during a 1961 tour of Latin America, reports the Boston Globe. A previously redacted FBI memo, which Judicial Watch says it obtained despite a battle from the Obama administration and the FBI, says Kennedy, then a 29-year-old assistant DA, even invited an embassy chauffeur to partake in the festivities.

Kennedy was in the region to talk to "leftists"—alternately referred to as "angry young men" in the memo. Kennedy's hard-partying ways might not have gone unnoticed: one member of the government in Lima called him "pompous" and a "spoiled brat." Not everybody's buying the veracity of the memo, though: "The stuff that turns up in FBI, or even CIA, documents is third-hand. It is somebody who ran into somebody in a hotel lobby who thought he saw Kennedy doing something. ... These raw files are very far from substantiated reality," says a Kennedy biographer.

"These raw files are very far from substantiated reality," says a Kennedy biographer." Well from a person that makes his living handling the biography of the Kennedy's my answer is Ya, Right and the fox said what hen house what chickens. The Kennedy's were nothing but wealthy spoiled white trash and their legacy is a black mark on the United States and those who voted for them back when. Every time I heard, do you know where you were when Kennedy was shot, I thought who cares about that misfit only the press and it was very slanted back then. I would like to know do you know where you were when journalism died? that is a much more important question than any presidential goings on! or did you know where you where when Obama and the unions destroyed America?
