In 11-Page Letter, Manning Writes of Naked Humiliation

He's forced to stand nude as guards walk past him, he writes

(Newser) – Bradley Manning has released an 11-page letter describing his treatment at Quantico's brig in his own words for the first time. The alleged WikiLeaker says he has been “left to languish under the unduly harsh conditions of max custody,” and complains that being placed on Prevention of Injury watch amounts to “unlawful pre-trial punishment,” according to the Guardian. Under that designation, he’s forced to strip every night and stand naked at "parade rest, with my hands behind my back and my legs spaced shoulder-width apart."

“I stood at parade rest for about three minutes,” Manning writes. “The [brig supervisor] and other guards walked past my cell. He looked at me, paused for a moment, then continued to the next cell. I was incredibly embarrassed at having all these people stare at me naked.” He says he’s no danger to himself, and was enraged when he was briefly put on suicide watch. “Out of frustration, I clenched my hair with my fingers and yelled: ‘Why are you doing this to me? Why am I being punished? I have done nothing wrong.’”

The prick, Manning writes, "I have done nothing wrong." Really? Perhaps this was a rough draft? Here's some advice, Manning: WRITE AN APOLOGY LETTER. I hope this ignorant twit get's LIFE in a maximum security prison

It's bad enough that America has a reputation for torturing prisoners, but we're getting a reputation for parading naked prisoners for all to ogle.

Should have thought about it before you committed the crime! Alleged or not, coming from experience working in Military Corrections this is not unusual. All prisoners go to A-seg until they can go into a general unit. For pre-trial confinement the detainee HAS to remain separate from all prisoners. I bet he was probably left in A-seg because of the publicity (good or bad) and for his own safety. Military members are not too fond of thier own who committ (or allegedly commit) treason. In A-seg you speak with Chaplains, Counselors, Mental Health techs on a daily basis-its required...Obviously he said/did something that triggered a suicide watch, they dont do it without reason.
