(Newser) The Daily Show's in talks to add a new contributor to its stable—and you just might have heard of him. Larry King has talked with Comedy Central about joining Jon Stewart's snarky faux-news show, sources tells the New York Post. "A single conversation has happened," says one. "It's still extremely preliminary. He'll be on every now and again, like Lewis Black."

But sources close to King say the CNN legend's already discussing the move like it's a done deal. Stewart frequently defended King during his last days at CNN. "You're the last guy out of a burning building, my friend," he said in this interview.

"Snarky faux-news show." Stewart would agree with you 100%. Of course, since he has Presidents, Cabinet members, Nobel prize winners and A listers as guests pretty much every day, and he is consistently cited as the most trusted newsman in America, that description doesn't really provide a clear picture of the program.

Faux news? Sorry, but the Daily Show is one of the better sources for news we have.
