The acrimonious feud between a Fox reporter and a CNN reporter covering the Libyan bombing operation is getting uglier by the day. Fox reporter Steve Harrigan lashed CNN's Nic Robertson as "dull," said his reporting was "bullshit," and impugned his masculinity. The conflict was triggered by a Fox News story claiming that US reporters, including Robertson, were used as "human shields" to prevent more missile strikes when they were taken recently to see a bomb site. Robertson called the story "outrageous," saying the trip was legitimate, and that Libyan officials intended no harm.

Harrigan would have confronted Robertson in person "if he was more of a man," he told the Huffington Post. A Fox reporter claimed that the network sent no one to the bomb site in order to protect their reporters. But it turns out that the network did send someone—a security guard with a camera—to cover the story. "Is it routine for Fox News to send security personnel on news gathering trips?" wonders Gawker. "If so, why? Is this as weird as it seems to us?" (More Fox stories.)
