Steelers Snag 31-28 Comeback Win vs. Browns

Posted Nov 12, 07 5:09 AM CST in Sports

(Newser) – The Pittsburgh Steelers got themselves in and out of trouble last night to pull off a nail-biter of a 31-28 victory against Cleveland. A 30-yard touchdown run by spry quarterback Ben Roethlisberger gave the Steelers their first lead, and after the teams traded touchdowns, Phil Dawson shorted the field goal that would have tied it up. Elsewhere in the NFL:

  • Chicago saw the return of Rex Grossman in its 17-6 win over offense-less Oakland.
  • Kansas City kept opting to throw against Denver's last-ranked rush defense, a strategy that led to their 27-11 defeat.
  • Maurice Jones-Drew's 129 total yards fueled Jacksonville over Tennessee, 28-13, while Fred Taylor's 45 yards bumped him past the 10,000 mark.
