Gun-Toting News Anchor Vows to Defend Gadhafi
The newsreader vowed to defend his leader and defy rebels.   (Al Libiya)

Few would expect fair and balanced coverage from Libyan state TV, and one Al Libya anchor in particular certainly isn't claiming to be impartial. The newsreader began his broadcast brandishing a Kalashnikov rifle and vowing to defy rebels and defend Moammar Gadhafi to his last drop of blood, reports the Telegraph.

"In the name of almighty God. I pledge to you, my dear leader, that I will sacrifice my last breath, my last bullet, my last drop of blood, last baby and child for you," he said. "Nobody can touch you. We will not allow them to harm you and you are too superior to them and more dignified than them." Both of Libya's state-run TV channels have spent recent days broadcasting footage of Gadhafi at military parades and making victory speeches.
