Scary story from the streets of Chicago: Two gunmen opened fire on a busy street in broad daylight with automatic weapons, setting off a chaotic chain of events that included a car crashing into a city bus, reports the Chicago Tribune. Eleven people were injured, two of them seriously. Witnesses say two men got out of a pickup truck about 9:30am and began walking down the block firing at a black sedan in the city's Englewood neighborhood.

As the car fled, it crashed into a CTA bus, which then slammed into a pole. The driver and four passengers were injured. It's not clear at this point whether any bystanders were hit by gunfire. "These young guys stepped out with AK-47s or Uzis or something and shot up the whole block," one witness tells the Tribune. "Once they got done, they ran back to the truck." (More Chicago stories.)
