Mark Zuckerberg's dad, Edward, is a dentist in Dobbs Ferry, New York, and no slouch when it comes to computers himself. Some highlights from an interview with the Los Angeles Times:

  • Computer guy: The 56-year-old has always been tech-savvy himself. He bought his first office computer in 1984 (an IBM XT) and taught Mark programming on the family's Atari 800. Today, he lectures on keeping a state-of-the-art office.
  • Key quote: "A key word here is 'vision.' We're all exposed to a lot of things, but how many can see where things are heading?"

  • Thoughts on the movie: "Inaccurate" and "disturbing."
  • Facebook fan: He uses the site to promote his office because he says any smart business would. "If Foursquare were a better product? I've never been faced with that problem, but I guess it would be a dilemma for me."
  • IT help: When he needs tech assistance, he knows just who to call in his family—his computer whiz son-in-law, Harry Schmidt.
  • Fame's fallout: "I guess I've lost some of my identity. I've always been the dentist, and now I'm the father of the Facebook guy."
