Gamers: Nintendo 3DS Makes Us Sick

Nintendo: Don't play it so much then

(Newser) – Gamers—including some reviewers—who have tried out Nintendo's new 3D-effect console say it has left them feeling distinctly woozy. Customers complain that the Nintendo 3DS, which flashes separate images into each eye, has caused headaches and nausea, and now they're having trouble getting full refunds from retailers, the Telegraph reports.

Nintendo has responded to complaints with some simple advice: If it's making you feel ill, take a break. "As with anything that requires focus, from reading to staring at a computer screen, taking frequent breaks is always recommended," a spokesman said, noting that some people might experience discomfort when viewing any 3D images. The Nintendo 3D was designed with a 3D "depth slider that lets users adjust the 3D effect to a level that suits them," he said.

I own a 3DS and it doesn't get me feeling dizzy at all. I'd suggest trying it out for yourself before becoming another whiner. It's understandable if it does make you feel funny (this whole 3D thing goes against thousands of years of evolution) but it's worth the effort to try out different depth settings. The coming games will kick ass. Wooziness is for scrubs :3

I played it for 2 whole minutes at Gamestop and had to put it down. You can feel it pull at your eyes. It's not a pleasant gaming experience.

Warnings, hey this is the USA, "Land of Lawsuits" - can't wait for the lawyer that climbs out from under a rock, with moss growing out of one shoe to file a lawsuit on behalf of gamers - What do you mean - "then take a break" - once someone buys a game console it's there right to play it as long as they like. Isn't this obvious? What was Nintendo thinking?
