Is This Man Replacing Katie Couric?

CBS sources tell TMZ Scott Pelley is the future anchor

(Newser) – Drumroll please: Katie Couric's replacement at CBS Evening News will be ... Scott Pelley. At least, if TMZ is to be believed (and remember, the gossip site did scoop the world on Michael Jackson's death and the Obamas' dog). CBS network sources say Pelley, a veteran journalist and 60 Minutes correspondent, is the personal choice of CBS News Chairman Jeff Fager to take Couric's spot behind the anchor desk. Pelley has been a rumored replacement in the past.

What happened to Harry Smith? He has been a loyal employee and he is a credible news broadcaster. I love every night that he substitutes for Katie. Please give him the job.

Of course we should wonder, has Ms Couric’s failure at CBS to bring in an audience been a reflection of her own brand failure or a more systemic trend in declining cable viewership and apathy? http://scallywagandvagabond.com/2011/04/katie-couric-the-end-of-the-overpaid-anchor/
