Paul's Last Second Layup Beats Nets

Posted Nov 13, 07 12:18 AM CST in Sports

(Newser) – In a battle of premier U.S.-born point guards, Chris Paul prevailed over Jason Kidd and the Nets with 27 points, including the game-winner for the Hornets, a layup with 2.6 ticks left on the clock. With Vince Carter out indefinitely, the Nets' Richard Jefferson had a monster 32-point game through three quarters, but fell completely silent for the fourth. In other NBA action:

  • Carlos Boozer's 32-point, 10-board outburst led Utah over the hurting Kings, 117-93
  • Allen Iverson netted 37 points to trump LeBron's 27, and Denver vanquished Cleveland, 122-100. J.R. Smith added 29 and Carmelo Anthony tallied 22 for the Nuggets.
